The Red Arrows!

This morning my friend and I went to the city for an airshow put on by the British Air Forces "Red Arrows."  They're the equivalent to the Blue Angels of the US Navy.  It was an amazing display of skill, and I simply blown away.  It was such a nice day...clear skies, warm weather.   Pictures can't make it clear enough just how cool the jets flying at high speed in tight formation or making low passes in what it seems to be inches from each other, but I was able to capture some pictures that I liked and wanted to share.  Enjoy!

All the planes exiting their formation

One plane crossing through the formation

One of those rare instances when you "get what you're going for." I zoomed in on the shot from above, and it looks as if the planes have absolutely no space between them when they're passing.

Coming around their turn just over the top of a house...love the red color of the planes!

I caught them coming straight at me on another pass. Unbelievable to me how precise their formation is as they're flying.  To me, formation flying really is artistic!

Amazing waterfall

Here's the waterfall we stopped at.  It's amazing...set back against a hill side and tucked into a stand of trees.  We got a bunch of great shots, and wanted to show some of what we got!

Our adventurers have discovered it!

Interesting shot of the steps that run next to the river

Great shot Jen!

sweet girls aren't they?

The lake the river runs into.  Just gorgeous!

I thought this shot was neat.  Our girls have an awesome mommy!

Away for a weekend

This past weekend, we had an opportunity to go visit our old home north of us.  We had a wonderful time reconnecting with some friends, and enjoying our old stomping grounds.  The trip was a success in that our family finally had a trip when we all shared a room.  Any young family knows that this is an adventure!! We ate at some familiar places, reminisced of good times we had, and were amazed at how different yet similar the place really was.  It was nice to go back, and look forward to going again sometime down the road.

Here's some pics of the trip

Quiet village in a glen

We've always loved this mountain.  It's so majestic!

Church nestled in a valley

Old abandoned boat sitting on the shore

Gorgeous sunset over the Atlantic

On the way home, we stopped at a waterfall...we'll load those pics up in the next couple of days

Ireland - A Magical Place!

Two very magical things happened in Ireland this week! You read about things like this happening in fairy tale books and folklore, but you never think you will witness it for yourself!

First of all, a Burger King opened in the city near us! This may not seem too magical to you, but if you went as long as we have here without a Burger King, you'd understand. ;o) We went with some American friends and it was truly a magical day!

The other magical thing this week was a fairy flew into our house! She got stuck inside and just sat longingly at the window looking out until someone let her out to play...
