Who Needs Boys??

Now, before you parents with boys jump all over me, hear me out. When we found out we were having a second girl, we were extatic. I was so excited that Hannah would have a sister to play with and bond with (Lord willing!!). However, I wondered if Seth was going to miss out on something by not having a son.....watching sports with his kids, playing sports with his kids, having a little handy-man helper to help fix things around the house. Well, let me tell you, the Deibel girls are well rounded!! BOTH of them LOVE watching baseball and football with Daddy. Hannah even ASKS for it! Hannah helped Daddy fix the garbage disposal a couple of weeks ago and she throws a football even better than I do! So, who needs boys when you have 2 lovely, dainty little girls who know how to hang with the guys?? (a note about the pics...no, we don't let Cailyn sit and watch tv like that but I left the room for a second came back, and found her mesmerised. LOL)

Things you never want to hear...

I was sitting at the computer a few minutes ago, and Jen began the nightly routine of bathing Cailyn while Hannah "helps". I'm minding my own business when I hear Jen say, "Oh, Hannah, no, we don't do that sweetie! Seth, can you come help me???" Ok, so I'm like, what did she do now. Well, I get in the bathroom to find out that to pass the time of waiting for Mommy and Cailyn to come into the bathroom, Hannah decides to wash her face...IN THE TOILET!!! YUCK! The poor thing...I get in there and see her and she's standing there looking at Jen with mounds of suds all over her face, just looking as pitiful as she could. I am grossed out!! Poor girl!!

Pity Party...

Ok, allow me a little pitty party here....its 8:30am on Saturday morning and I've already been up for 2 hours. Even though I've had kids for 2.5 years and am "used" to getting up early, there's still something inherently wrong with waking up at 6:30am on a Saturday. I miss those days in college and high school where there were very few responsibilities and I could waste my Saturdays sleeping until noon. LOL And since our kids are only 2.5 and 4 months, we can't leave them to their own devices just yet. :o) In the grand scheme of things, waking up so early isn't that big of a deal, but on a cloudy, cool (er) day, its just a great day to linger in the covers and be lazy. Oh well....

4 Months!

Yep, that's right, Cailyn is 4 months old (as of this past Monday). We had her 4 month check up today and all went well. She's 14 lbs 14 oz and 26 1/2". She's in the 75th percentile for her weight and over 97th percentile for her height! She's right on target with her developments and the doc says she looks great. We're going to keep her on the reflux medicine until she's 6 months old and see if we can wean her off of it then.
Can we please take this bow off so I can put it in my mouth??

Summertime Sisters

Well, summer has finally arrived here in Texas. So, we broke out the summer sundresses and, of course, had to get some pictures of our little sun-goddesses (that have to stay out of the sun because of their light skin, but oh well. LOL). They are really starting to interact more, as you can see them in deep coversation here. Cailyn loves her big sister and smiles whenever she sees her. Ah, summertime...

So if you've ever wondered

Ok....time for my very first blog...here goes nothing.

Alright, so this summer has been an interesting one. Since I've been working with this group of teenagers, they've been after me to do something crazy with my hair. I tried doing something with an incintive, or make them "earn" whatever they were wanting me to do. Well, this year, along with another adult I work with, we decided to go ahead and do it. We got mohawks!!! So, if you've ever wondered what I would look like with a mohawk, here you go. FYI, I no longer have it...once in a lifetime thing, you know?

Bumbo...

So, there's been some questions as to what in the world is a "Bumbo?" Its that green chair thing Cailyn is sitting in in the last post. It helps babies who can't sit up on their own yet sit on their own. Its great for nosey-nates like Cailyn who want to be able to see what's going on. I (Jen) wasn't going to get one b/c they're ridiculously expensive, but found one at a steal...and I can always re-sell it on ebay, right? LOL
